- ...are active in the FCA Huddle at their school, if one exists.
- ...are willing to fulfill the tasks of the Huddle Leader.
Please take a minute to read the job description outlined below. If you feel you
can fulfill the Huddle Leader responsibilities and would like to share a week of
your summer with other athletes and coaches at an FCA Summer Camp, then we would
love for you to apply. You will find the Huddle Leader experience to be one of the
best of your life.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- All Huddle Leaders must complete the FCA Ministry Leader Application (MLA). You
may complete the MLA online by going to http://www.FCA.org/mla.
If you already have the MLA on file with FCA, you do not need to complete another
one.
- Complete and submit this online Huddle Leader Enrollment form. Alternatively, you

SELECTION PROCESS
- By completing this application, you are only expressing a desire to serve at FCA
Camp. It does not mean that you are accepted as a Huddle Leader because you have
completed an application.
- The earlier FCA receives your application, the better chance you have of being placed
at your first Camp choice. Applications should be submitted at least six weeks prior
to the Camp(s) where you wish to serve.
- Your application will be filed at the National Camp Office, and screened by the
Huddle Coordinator and Camp Director for the Camp you have requested, as well as
your local FCA Director.
- We will notify you as soon as your application is processed or within four weeks
after receiving your application if you have been accepted.
- Huddle Leaders are assigned on the basis of spiritual maturity, athletic experience
and FCA involvement.
FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS
- If selected, FCA will cover your room and board expenses for the Camp you attend.
- Travel will be reimbursed for actual auto expenses only when two or more Huddle
Leaders travel together, are serving at the site closest geographically to their
summer address and turn in receipts for their expenses.
HUDDLE LEADER JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Huddle Leader, you will serve under the leadership of the Camp Director and
will be trained and supervised by the Huddle Coordinator. Your responsibilities
will include:
- Participate in the entire pre-Camp and daily training times. (The starting time
for pre-Camp training varies, based on each Camp. Exact times when you should report
for pre-Camp training will be given to you by the Camp staff.)
- Assist during Camp registration.
- Monitor your Huddle’s needs.
- Be responsible for Huddle members at all times.
- Keep Huddle on schedule.
- Maintain group and individual discipline.
- Eat meals with your Huddle.
- Enforce lights out and handle morning wake up.
- Be available to counsel Huddle members if necessary and refer individuals with counseling
needs to the appropriate staff persons.
- Lead Huddle meetings.
- Guide discussion involving all Huddle members using the guidebook material.
- Lead prayer time.
- Participate in clinics/competition.
- Serve as a coach/instructor as directed by the head clinician.
- Be a Christ-like example during competition.
- Prepare evening devotions.
- Function within all FCA’s policies and Staff Guidelines.
- Attend the post Camp evaluation meeting following the closing team meeting.
- Contact each Huddle member several times for at least one year after Camp.
